I have a heading on my blog, in which, although there are few articles, but each of them is about the artist whose fate is shocking to the core. Today it will be replenished with another story - in memory of an amazing person, an icon painter Grigory Zhuravleva. Through his books and performances, he inspires hundreds of thousands of people around the world, reminding them, how important it is to appreciate life, how important it is to realize that each person has his own mission and his own path.

At one time, Nick's books made an indelible impression on me. But the artist with similar features lived in our country more than one hundred and fifty years ago, I learned recently. And I don’t even talk about that everything is so competently built from the point of view of the laws of the drawing, I just admire how much the master managed to convey life in these works, the light in the eyes of a truly God's gift was invested in this amazing person!

But even earlier than to learn letters, the young artist learned to draw, clamping a twig and creating images of animals and people on Earth. For this occupation, he was once found by the Utvsky Zemsky teacher Troitsky and was amazed at how exactly Grisha depicts what he saw. He was the first to notice an extraordinary talent in the boy and began to teach his literacy. Grigory Zhuravlev’s handwriting was magnificent - he was even instructed to rewrite the protocols of exams, which was considered a special sign of distinction.

He could not occupy hard work and desire to study. Gregory independently mastered anatomy, drawing, and practiced a lot in the drawing. He began to write his first icons thanks to his studies at the icon -painting workshop of Alexei Skovaev.
