She tried to sew, and dance, and draw, but nowhere was there for a long time, interest was cooling quickly.

In the eleventh grade, Irina was engaged in the courses of hairdressers, and after school she continued to master the subtleties of the profession in the lyceum. In parallel, she put experiments on her own hair and at some point spoiled them so much that she had to ask classmates to cut her to zero. Moreover, she even liked the radically short haircut. In those years, Irina met the guys from the hippie party, traveled a lot of hitchhiking, learned how to play the guitar and wrote the first songs, including Omut, which later entered the debut album “Chi-Li”.

Having accustomed the musical career to travel by hitchhiking, Irina saved well and collected the amount sufficient to pay for the entrance to the night club in a week. It was in one of these "party" evenings of the year that Irina's fateful acquaintance with Sergey Karpov took place, with whom she later founded the Chi-Li group. Sergei Karpov with his team performed in the very club.

The girl was attracted by his leather pants. Standing at the stage, she tried to determine whether it was real leather or not, and held out her hand to touch. Sergey noticed the girl and remembered. But the “official” acquaintance occurred somewhere in a month in the company of their acquaintances. Karpov heard Irina’s singing and called her a soloist to his Rio group.

In this capacity, she went with him on tour to Poland. They performed mainly at discos.
