Despite the fact that the attempt to enter VGIK failed due to an age-related restriction, this did not repel her desire.
Irina got a job as a cleaner in the tourist complex and began to visit the theater studio, not missing a single metropolitan premiere. The following attempts to enter the Moscow Art Theater were also unsuccessful, but in the end Irina nevertheless reached her goal. She ended up in the Lensovet Theater after completing training at the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography.
In this film, the actress got the role of Katka, sister of the main character. A successful debut attracted the attention of the directors, so that this role was followed by a number of others in such paintings as the “gardener”, “whose old are you, old? Irina Rakshina in the film “The Tramp Bus” in the year Irina appeared in the cult film by Alexei Balabanov “Brother”, where she played the role of Zinka, who helped Hoffmann care for the wounded Danila Bagrov.
This cooperation with Balabanov continued: the next year, Rakshina played the first aunt Lisa in the film “About Freaks and People”, and at the beginning of X got the role of an alcoholic in the “Georgian”.
