Traditionally, Kamisole was an element of everyday, festive wedding costume, was part of Kalym. It was distributed in the clothes of the Bashkirs, Tatars and Kazakhs. Color, cut, ornament and jewelry conveyed the Bashkirs of the Universe, showed religious affiliation, and any detail was justified historically, mythologically, from the household and practical side.
This feature was especially clearly manifested in female outfits. The length of the camisols was different. The youth wore short people, and women and older men dressed in the camisols more authentic, their hem reached their thigh. By the beginning of the 20th century, the camisols with the floors extended downward were fashionable. This was achieved by adding several wedges from the waist or with the help of the laid folds in the middle of the back and in axillary tabs.
They wore both straight and short camisoles. There was usually no collar, and if it was, it was low, turning into the floors. The latter were not cheap, rarely smells. The clasp either was completely absent, or several metal hooks were sewn to the floors. A rubble pocket was made on the right side. Camisols were usually worn without sleeves, on the gate, hem and edge of the wolf pocket, the camisole was decorated with either a gap or a decorative machine line.
The material was used by the most diverse - from the homespun, painted black, to expensive velvet. Inside, a lining of cotton fabric was made.
Until now, the Bashkirs and Tatar Kamisole as everyday clothes are worn by all the elderly women. Typically, the camisole is slightly fitted due to the heat barrels on the back or tuck. Bashkir fashionistas for camisole sewing usually used a dark plain plush. The camisols were everyday and festive clothing all year. Much attention was paid to their decoration. The costume of people of young and middle age was bright.
They preferred red color in combination with green and yellow. Blue was less common. In old white clothes, there was a finish - embroidery, application. For outerwear, especially for the elderly, black fabric was used. Corals, Kauri shells, mother of pearl, beads, silver badges, coins were sewn on the camisole.
